Apple watch calories burned by standing

A friend of mine owns an Apple Watch. She says that the watch know how much she sits and stands. A question for those who own one. Does Apple watch take into account calories burned by standing when estimating TDEE?

watching for response too.
I know Apple starts with base calories of Sedentary, which includes some sitting, some walking, some standing, some sleeping.
I'm not sure how you would be able to tell if it was giving a different value, because until walking even rises above the level already expected in Sedentary already, it doesn't get counted as Moving extra calories.
Also, I doubt the watch knows the difference between those states - but the ability to see a change in states sure.
If it's really watching for change of state, and attempting to thereafter say this much time standing, this much sitting - that could easily be fooled - so I doubt they actually track the time in each state.1 -
The Apple Watch has a reminder for you to stand up. I think it's somewhat customizable and I think mine it set up for once an hour. It uses the accelerometer to determine whether or not you're standing but you can trick it just by letting your arm hang down by your side.1
