Keeping control of what I can during this time

For the last ten years, as a triathlete, I have had races on my calendar. I've competed in two full Ironman distance triathlons, and many other races. Now, all races have been cancelled. I have one on the calendar, Maple Valley half, in September, but currently don't know if that's going to a go or not. I am still working out but feel a little lost. I'm a teacher also not teaching due to the virus. Our world, as we know it, has been turned up side down. The first few days, I found myself sitting around just eating. I decided to log back in to MyFitnessPal.com and begin tracking my nutrition. It helps me feel like I can keep on track. My weight stays pretty much in the same ten pound range, however, I prefer to not be on the higher end of the ten pounds or I start feeling sluggish and bad about myself.

There is so much out of our control that it is a good idea to control what you can and concentrate on that. Stay well.

You're not alone. They just canceled Ottawa Race Weekend which I think was the right thing to do and I'd be very surprised if the 70.3 goes ahead at Mt Tremblant in June. I'm trying to keep up with as much of my training plan as a I can (no swimming as the pool's closed and there's still ice on the river so OW may be a while yet).

My other important race is the Army Run in September and I'm not counting on it happening but maybe things will have settled down a bit by then.

    My motivation is 2021.....

We just had to cancel our son's wedding for Memorial Day weekend :( I learned long ago that the only thing I have any control over are my own actions - to that end I am trying to keep moving each day and watching my nutrition and calorie consumption. These are strange and distressing times and motivation seems to wane with isolation. Praying we can all stay on the positive side of things!
