Hi everyone who can be bothered to read this haha :-)
BISCUITS! That's my biggest diet saboteur. Every single week our beautiful cleaner Mavis, who's 72 and fitter than most people I know haha, brings in a bag full of biscuits.
Kit kats, Clubs, Digestives, cereal bars...it goes on and on!
Now we've asked her nicely not to bring them in but she just laughs and says "There's no calories in them" and she's not bring them in a nasty way she's really so sweet and lovely that I can't say anything, besides the guys in my office LOVE the biscuits! Anyway I found out I weighed 4lbs heavier yesterday than I did in February (I gave up biscuits for a while!) and now I am so upset and determined I looked at myself in the mirror this morning and said "I'm never eating a biscuit at work agan".
Yep that's how sad I am!
Anyway, I know how to eat healthily, I go to the gym I need support to RESIST TEMPTATION! If anyone who has a similar problem would like any support and motivation and vice versa I'd love to hear from you!
Thanks :-D

Me! I'm such a me too iguana, I want to eat whatever my coworkers are eating, even when my food tastes better! I've gotten better about it but gluten has become my worst enemy and it is always a struggle to resist it. It would be great if someone would pat me on the head every time I did. I was thinking about making a ticker counting my gluten free days instead of my weight0

hi! I reckon you might get quite a few people interested in this thread!
I sympathise with you regarding your cleaner lady bringing in all those goodies it must be like having a test everyday!
Hopefully as the days go by you will crave less and less and eventually just not want them. Make sure you fill up on your protein, that way it will fill you up and could help you look at the biccies with scorn
Best of luck with your weightloss and your temptations! :flowerforyou:0 -
Mimi!!
My lovely Mimi!!
I'm exactly the same!!!
I've been on a biscuit and cookie mission since before TOM ( nearly 2 weeks ago now), that was my excuse, but with that over I still find the cookie jar impossible to resist!! And One is NEVER enough!!
I too have uttered the words - NO MORE BISCUITS!!
But it seems to last a few weeks and then I think ''oh I can just have one''
I know for an absolute fact that if I had a medical reason for giving them up I could and I wouldn't even miss them after 6 wks (because I had to give them up for years when I thought I had milk issues - chocolate too) but I still can not get my head round giving them up through choice alone.
I have used every single will power trick I know and resisted them periodically but they always seem to be NEEDED before TOM and then that messes me up for weeks - once I've tasted them I have to have more.
I think for me the answer would be for me to consider that my goal is not achievable without giving them up and for me to fool myself to believing that I can not eat them for medical reasons.
My 5 year old little boy simply loves biscuits and cookies and chocolates and I don't think it's far to banish them from our house to help my dieting, he's healthy and has them only as a treat so I do need to be able to put up with them being around but must find a way to resist more often!!
All help and advice welcomed!!! lol
Love you MIMI xxxxxxx

Are they openly displayed or in a cookie jar? If you are openly trying to lose weight, you could ask your co-workers to hold you accountable and remark if they see you near the dish or you could put a personal post it on the container saying "hands off mimi!!!!" Also, I find that chewing gum keeps my mouth busy which helps me avoid other foods, as well as brushing my teeth to refresh my mouth, then I don't want to eat. Resist our nemesis is difficult and we ALL have ours!!! If it were easy, none of us would be here!0

Hey thanks guys!
I'm glad to see it's not just me with this problem!!!!!!!! I haven't had one biscuit today so far so I am happy with that, just need to make it last indefinitely now!
Mel I wish I was allergic to chocolate and milk that way I'd have no excuse and have to go cold turkey too!!!!!!!!!!!!! I've put a sticker on the biscuit tin saying "DONT EAT THEM" and my colleagues know I'm on a diet but they still offer me to take a biscuit whenever they eat one! Argh!!!!! I love you too darlin'!
The funny thing is I also prefer eating eg blueberries as a snack or something like that but it's so easy to eat 3 or 4 biscuits and then omg look how much fat and cals have just gone! Argh!
I propose anyone else with this problem, we should make a pact to help each other and hld one another accountable! My diary is public and if anyone looks at eg last Friday I think there's about 7 jaffa cakes on there. HELP ME!

This is ALWAYS happening to me. It seems I get cravings (bad, strong ones) all the time for different stuff. This week it's red licorice. Not so bad because the calories for a serving of licorice is only 120 for 3 pieces. Yeah, but not for me...oh no.....I have to have a million pieces.
The trick (and only thing that works for me) is simply do not have them near. This could be hard when you're at work and somebody keeps bringing in treats!
good luck!0 -
Hey guys,
I didn't eat one biscuit yesterday! I put a post it note on the biscuit saying "DON'T EAT THEM" with a subfooter that said "Please don't offer Mimi ANY biscuits"
Hahaha xxx0 -

I need to do this with you.
I can not leave the cookie jar alone, I MUST move it to a cupboard so it's not on view when I make a coffee or tea and I too must put a sticker on it saying '' JACK'S COOKIES'' '' Mel not allowed these!!''
My biggest problem is when I'm tired, I feel I need the energy that I think I get from them. (like today)
After my last detox I made new rules to help maintain all weight lost- no chocolate, no biscuits (except these very low cal and high fibre ginger biscuits and then only 1-2 a day) and no cakes and no sauce on ice cream - these are my weaknesses and trigger me to overeat these items.... It lasted quite well until my TOM was due. Then that messed me up for a week or more.
I need to set some rules and a good kick up the bum when I break them (
I think we should agree to watch each other and send ''reminders'' when we go over, as silly as it is I think it will help me knowing that Mimi will be watching when I pig out on chocolate chip cookies again!!!
4 of the damn things I ate today (
I'm embarrassed I have so little will power when it comes to this, I can stick to the detox perfectly time after time but on my off days I might say ''oh just one'' and that gives me a taste for them!!
I'd love to join your biscuit resistance pact!! And don't mind you telling me off!!! lol xxx
I really do think that they are the thing that messes me up and the root of my problem.
I will set out a few items which I will allow as a replacement for these times when I am shattered so I have something I can have but is not going to make me go into pig out mode!!

OK!!! Cookie Jar now has ''warning'' label and I'm moving it to a cupboard where my son can reach without asking me to get them!! I've also told him to tell me off if I want to eat one of ''his'' biscuits!! And that I am not allowed to eat these at all!!
I'm hoping that by me calling these biscuits JACK'S I will feel bad if I eat his food!!
I love my boy so I reckon this will help too!!!0 -
Well done Guys! I'm not sure how to keep this post going to people remember it but I didn't have one biscuit yesterday either....phew! I felt like I really wanted one but I ate a plum instead :-) not the same with a cup of tea but it's progress!
Have a resisting weekend ladies!0
