Healthy weight loss is 2 lbs a week, if you have 60 or more lbs to lose.4

Thanks but I’m also under a care of a dr already. He didn’t say anything was wrong. But thanks for the insight3

Take weekly progress photos. Sometimes you can see in a photo, what you can't see with your eyeballs. Measurements, using a sewing tape, are good, too.1

I understand you are under a doctor's care. Good!
However, unless you are 5'0 or under, elderly, or completely sedentary, 1200 per week is a really low goal. If you find yourself starving or binging or whatever, it may be smarter, in the long run to move up to 1400-1500 calories per day and lose a little slower.
I can lose on 2000 per day. It's a slower loss, but I don't freak out and binge, which means I'm actually losing faster than I would be if I tried to stick to a calorie goal that was too little for me.11 -
So people on keto should be on 1,500 cal daily as well? I’m just curious.0

I’m 5”11 in the high 300s. High Blood pressure, boarder line diabetic. Until I lose 30 lbs. I’ll go to 1,500.1

To determine how many calories you should eat, it doesn't matter if you're doing keto or any other diet.
The fact that you're doing keto might partly explain the rapid weight loss too: the decrease in carbs can lead to a lot of water weight loss in the first few weeks.
I would monitor your weight loss the next few weeks and see if stabilises. 2lbs a week would be a good goal at your current weight. If it's faster than that, it would be good to increase the number of calories to avoid loss of muscle mass.
As for seeing the weight: progress pictures are good, as well as taking regular measurements. Our mind is great at tricking us!2 -

To be clear, I'm not saying eat 1500 calories period. I'm saying eat at a calorie target that keeps you satisfied, but still losing weight. You lose weight by eating fewer calories than your body uses. How you choose to create the calorie deficit (keto, paleo, Atkins, whatever) doesn't matter, for weight loss.

It is up to you more than your doctor to try and figure out how you can properly sustain your weight loss. A doctor can monitor your health but will likely have little training in nutrition or weight loss. If you need help with those you need to see a registered dietitian.
You will be losing weight for a couple of years which is why sustainability is important. After that you will need to successfully maintain your weight loss for the rest of your life. As serious as your health issues are many, too many, people have them and it fails to keep them losing for long enough to actually do anything about them. If you try to go too fast and it causes you to feel bad, deprived, and/or miserable it can wear you down no matter how motivated you feel at the moment.
You may feel great at the moment. In fact, you may feel better than you have in a long time. This is common for people who start off with a lot to lose. It doesn't last though so please be prepared.
I have lost well over 200 pounds in the last 2 years and I have thoroughly changed my life and my health for the better. I also failed to lose enough weight to do that for around 30 years before then. In each of those attempts I did not have a sustainable plan. I would often try to go too fast and/or too hard.
You can do this. Just don't quit for any reason. If the misery of 1200 calories catches up with you and you have a really bad day and eat a lot of food that is no reason to quit. You do not have to be perfect to get it done, I was not perfect, you will need to be sustainable though.
Ask for any help you need as you go.17 -

I'm glad. I'm 5'9, 201 lbs, 45 yoa and can lose on 2000 calories per day.
You are very tall for a female. Please don't ever drop to 1200. Don't be afraid to even go up to 1700-1800 calories if you really find yourself struggling.
Doesn't it make sense that a 5'11 female would need more fuel than a 5'0 female?6 -

Can confirm, 5'1'', 123lbs, sedentary, and lose on 1,200 a day. Way too big of a deficit for someone who is 5'11''.2 -
Thank you all for the great inspirations. I think I am losing that much because I am on a lazy keto diet. And then most of the day I don’t feel hungry, I drink 1 gallon of water daily, snack on almonds and eat a lot of proteins. But I’m going to incorporate a lot more in my diet.1

Yes I’m a tall female. But I was at my highest 335. I was sluggish. Now that I’m losing the weight I feel a lot better. I need to up my calorie intake. But my dr suggested I go to the 12001

Take progress photos weekly. I didn't really see any significant change until I was around 50 lbs down. Note: Not all Dr's know what they are talking about as far as weight loss or nutrition. 1200 calories is going to be very tough for someone weighing 300 or more since that is absolute min for a female. My Dr told me to stay at 1500 calories when I was in the 280s. The min for a man. I was starving and miserable. I bumped it up to 1800-1900 calories and fired my Dr.5 -
I’m 5 ft 9 140 pounds moderately active. I lose about 3/4 pound a week on 1800.
There’s really no need to eat 1200 with your stats as others have said. If you can lose on more calories then do that. You gotta think long term. Too many of us here have suffered the back lash of eating too few calories.5 -

Especially if you are at 1200 and your want to stay there, eat back your calories from your walk. Also fiber will allow you to feel full. But if you’re start to become tempted to quit then reevaluate your intake level. I did keto for a while and I was amazingly satisfied on very little. I’m glad you w found something that works for you.
(Stats F 5.5, 168, 1250 a day then eating back workout calories)0
