Anyone use Garmin's Varia radar with a watch?

I'd love to hear about how this works in practice without a head unit. I know you can use the watch as a display, but that somewhat defeats the purpose. You can also set the watch up to vibrate when it detects a car behind you and the light flashes at approaching drivers depending on their speed, so there's still benefit. But I'd love to hear from people actually using it this way.

Also, can a Fenix watch control ANT+ lighting?
