    ETA: Well... I don't know how much of a twister these q's are... for instance, the lions could have procreated & the newer lions eventually ate the deceased ones & on & on... or the loaded guns could have jammed... These brainteasers twist my brain. :confused:

    I can see how cowsfan12 might think 5, but there's more to it than meets the eye. The rabbit see 6 elephants while going, so the rabbit may be just looking over its shoulder as it hops on over to the river, so that's 1 animal so far.

    Then we have 2 monkey going to the river, so that's a total of 3 animals so far. But the parrots that the monkeys hold are being taken by the monkeys, possibly against their will. So do the birds even count?

    If we're talking about free will and consent, I say 3 animals are going to the river. The birds may be getting hijacked.
