Activity level descriptions

Hi! Please forgive me if this has been asked before, but I couldn’t find an answer on the forums.

I’m trying to work out what my usual activity level is. I have an active job where I am on my feet sweeping, pushing wheelbarrows, forking hay etc., but only for about 2 hours, 5 days a week. The rest of the time I am sedentary, although I sometimes take other forms of exercise which I log. Does my short burst of activity qualify me as lightly active? Moderately active? The descriptors for these levels describe professions with a lower exercise intensity than what I do, but a much longer duration.

Thanks!

You could put yourself down as lightly active and then track your weight on a daily basis, if you are not losing or losing too fast, adjust your activity level up or down accordingly.

I would also like to add that you shouldn't only look at your job.

For example: my job is sedentary, but (before the lockdown) I got at least 4000-5000 steps just from walking to and from the train station. Housework also contributes to your activity level, as do hobbies, etc.
Basically, everything you do in your daily life should be taken into account for choosing your activity level setting in MFP, except separately logged exercise.
