When the gym opens again I would like to follow a structured weight lifting program. There are so many out there I’m not sure what one to follow. I would consider myself a beginner so something that is not too complicated. Please share what program you have used and what you liked or did not like about it.

I like stronglifts 5x5 because it is the least complicated lifting program I've found. My weight room only has bars and area, so programs that use machines/cables/dumbbells etc don't work for me. There are only 5 main lifts to learn. I do think it progresses too quickly, but you can always just repeat a workout if you arent ready to increase the weight. Works even better if you have access to micro plates(like 1 or 2lb). You can also ask if there are different size bars. A standard bar is 45lb and sometimes beginners need something lighter.
So, that is all for the future. What are your strength training plans now? My suggestion would be to find something to do now and build your functional strength before the gyms open. You never know how long it will take to get back to the gym.0
