Tell me why I can succeed

I have never been consistent with a food diary. I feel I used to be able to pull myself up by the bootstraps but getting older and a couple of brain surgeries I don’t seem to have that obsessive motivation. For me I have to believe dropping weight is a reality.

Do you brush your teeth every day? If so, you can make good habits. Just make a good habit of logging your food.
Do you go to the bathroom several times a day? Do you actually go into the bathroom, use the John, flush, wash your hands?
If you can make good habits around one common thing, you can make good habits in another common thing, like eating healthy, low calorie meals.
Just start, find ways to make it easy, keep doing it until it comes naturally.
You CAN do it.

You've had surgeries, I'm sure you followed doctors' orders when recovering
Just think of this as recovering. Recovering from an unhealthy lifestyle maybe? You just need to get into a groove. It has to become a habit.3 -
The science is the science. No one else can make you believe it or convince you to do it nor is that anyone else's job. If you want convincing, look up calorie control and weight loss on PubMed. Lot's of people have done it and many also fail. The choices and responsibilities for this in your life belong to you.3
