Changing cooked nutrition from raw

Just wanted to make sure I am calculating calories correctly. If I have a cup of raw rice for example, how do I re-input the information once it is cooked so I can use it throughout the week. Thanks.

you could find a cooked entry to use - but i would recommend just using the raw entry each day - unless you are adding stuff to it - but 1cup raw is like 4 servings of rice (if you go by standard serving size)

Weight rice raw and log it in empty spot in diary.

Weigh other ingredients used such as chicken stock, salt, or butter if any are used. Not the water 🤣

Cook the rice and weigh the finished product

If, slightly, obsessive weigh it once it cools down because moisture will continue to evaporate if you weight it just after it finishes cooking (ask me why I would know 🤷‍♂️) Weighting when it cools down is also helpful to avoid burning you mittens! 😹

Now you have the finished product's weight and you can save your entries either as a meal or a recipe depending on interface and available options. Suggest you include weigh in title for easy reference the next day.

If my finished meal was 900g, a 180g serving will be 0.2 meals!

Of course of you're eating the whole thing you can skip the save as meal stuff

If only you eat the rice you could weigh it raw and divide the calories by how many portions you will get. Say you cook 5 portions, then just divide the weight in grams by 5 and use that every day. Some days it might be a tiny bit more or less, but will even out over those 5 days.
