Hey,
I am trying to understand the minimum amount of carbs that I should regularly eat to maintain proper nutrition. Currently, MFP suggests maximum of 184g per day. However, it does not suggest a minimum.
Overall Goal: Looking to get down from obese to normal weight without losing whatever muscle mass I have.
Current Stats— 195 lbs, 5ft 8in, 32 yr male. BMI: 29.6, 30-33% fat, 50% water, muscle 64%(124 lbs), bone: 3.5%
Target Stats (end of 2020- 7 months) - 165 lbs, BMI- 25, muscle - min 70% (min 115lbs), bone-4%, water - 50%

There is no minimum number of carbohydrates that you need. Protein and fat are the only essential macronutrients. That said, it is very difficult to meet your nutritional goals without eating foods like vegetables, grains, beans, and fruit -- all of which have carbohydrates. So the right number of carbohydrates is the number that allows you to meet your nutritional needs -- that is, you're getting sufficient protein and fat while also getting the micronutrients that are in carbohydrate-containing food. Something else to consider is enjoyment -- how do you *like* to eat?9
