Is it possible that my metabolism is this low?

I have been experimentally trying to find my maintenance calories. MFP said it should be 2720. Yesterday I put on 0.3kg after eating 2,122 calories.
Is it possible, as a man, that my metabolism is that slow? (I did an hour of exercise that day as well). Has anyone else had a similar experience?

Weight loss isn't linear, weight gain isn't linear, and matainence isn't stable. Just because you ate less for one day doesn't mean the scale won't increase.
How old are you, what weight are you trying to maintain, and how tall are you?4 -
So, I have been losing weight for about a month already. I actually started using MFP because I had been trying to maintain but failing. (I want to maintain for a few weeks before continuing to lose). This is the first day I have put any back on.1

Weight loss isn't measured by the day. It isn't even really measured by the week.
Waste in your gut will fluctuate by 100's of grams, the amount of water you're carrying will fluctuate by 100's of grams. There are just way to many fluctuating factors that have nothing to do with body fat making up that scale number that it's impossible to make any sort of judgement on that short a timescale.
If you want to evaluate your calorie intake you're looking at a period of 6-8 weeks to reveal the true weight trend and cancel out all the unrelated ups and downs.6 -
So I should keep on with the same calorie budget? I'm really frightened of putting all my lost weight back on.1

I'm 32 and 6'1. I'm trying to maintain 117kg. (Not forever, just for a bit. I know that's not a healthy weight, but its a fair bit less than I was. I read that a study called MATADOR showed some success for "intermittent dieting" to overcome metabolic adaption).1 -
Chill! Weight fluctuates. Hey, step on the scale before breakfast and afterwards. Of course all that you eat doesn't go puff. Your body digests is slowly, and what's left you poop our at a certain time. Plus the wonderful world of water fluctuations. Just have a bit more salt and your body will store more water. Start a new workout? Yep, more water. And if you're a woman then you're really doomed because we gain waterweight for every hormonal reason you can possibly think of.5

Get your calculator out and do the maths to work how many calories above maintenance you would need to eat to "put all the weight back on".
You need to have a bit more faith in the process and vastly elongate your timescales - nothing significant happens in a day.
Take a deep breath, accept you had a perfectly normal temporary weight fluctuation and carry on with your plan.7 -
Carry on with your plan. Start using a weight trend app or web site. You probably don't quite need to look at your weight in 6 to 8 week chunks absent hormonal variations; but, you are unlikely to be able to make too many valid decisions while taking into account much less than two or three weeks at a time. And I would be more comfortably extending that to a good month.

Thanks everyone. I appreciate your reassurance. I'll try not to spiral4
