I have been running for nearly 2 years. I don't ever have the need for speed. It's stamina I'm looking for. I'd like to finish this race.
I need a good training schedule to follow so I can put it in my family calendar and stick to it. I need wednesdays and saturdays to be my long runs.
Anyone have any websites that can help me figure out a solid plan for the next six weeks to help me get ready? I found a few websites to learn from but this site is so helpful, wanted to get some personal recommendations from real runners...
I currently run about 6-9 miles a week. I used to run more when I scheduled it.. so it's doable to run more a week..
thanks for any and all advice.

Try the Runner's World Smart Coach - you can customize it to your current mileage and paces. Used it for my 2nd half and really liked it.0

Congrats on setting such an awesome goal of doing your first half! That is exciting!
You have plenty of time to get there but need to get started.
Increase your long runs byt 1 mile a week from now to last week of September and take the last week off.
Google Jeff Galloway or Hal Higdon. Gods in the distance running world. I like Jeff's walk run program and did it for my fastest half marathon time and felt great afterwards.
Best to you!0 -
Thank you for all these resources ladies! I will def be at the back of the pack in October. I've done 10 before but never 13, so I just hope to finish, that's my goal..0

You've done 10---you can do 13!
Back of the pack? Hey--that's where all the fun is!! Get a tutu at WalMart and wear it. You will have a great time!0
