Hi guys. I'm currently doing a 6 week Hunger Games workout. After I got done, I was planning on trying a workout to slim down my calves. If anyone knows any exercises that slims your calves and builds your bum, do you mind sharing? I'd really appreciate it!

It won't happen unfortunately. I have giant calves and have been trying to get them to normal human sizes too but even when I was on the swim team in high school working out and swimming pretty much every day, they were huge. You can't spot reduce0
-
Squat and eat at a deficit.
Either that or walk around on your knees.0 -
I'm expecting to spot reduce. I'm hoping to slim up in the calf area. Like ton.
Squats
Yoga0 -
It's 2013 and people are still wondering how to reduce fat on one specific body part0
-
Not fat dude. Muscle! Muscle from walking on my toes my entire child hood. :grumble:0
-
You can't purposely slim down any specific body part, body doesn't work that way.
Deficit and heavy lifting and some moderate cardio is your best bet. And....patience. Our "problem areas" are always...problems.0 -

Oh, then atrophy is your best bet. Get some casts and a wheelchair, wait 6-8 weeks.0 -

I really wish there was such a thing -- but I know there is not. I have strong German legs, I've had them my entire life and I hate them. I even get mad if I see super obese people (way, way bigger than me) with small legs. Like, whyyyy do they have smaller legs if they are bigger than me!?
But. Alas. Not much to do other than work all over and pray they shrink. Ever since doing 30 Day Shred and starting Couch to 5K I have noticed that the calf area of my jeans is a bit looser -- I pray the trend continues. 30 Day Shred has heavy focus on squatting... so maybe that is helping? I just want to wear shorts without feeling like my legs are monstrous. Sigh. I suppose the losing weight all over is helping too.
I wish you the best of luck!

I rate morebean an 8.75
...wait, wrong thread, why is there no delete button?
I assume this is a 0-8.8 scale. I'm flattered.0 -
Whats your body fat % like?
Your calves can feel tight as a rock standing, but if your at 30%+ body fat it will slim down quite a bit when you lose %. The lower half towards your ankle can really slim down even if the main muscle lumps stay bigger. We store fat in the weirdest places.0 -
Heck no. If I wanted to deal with it, I wouldn't be askin' for help now would I. Just because someone makes a suggestion, doesn't mean I have to take it and just because one doesn't know a way, doesn't mean there isn't a solution.
@ Bobby, I have no idea what my body fat % is but my calves are hard as a rock when I stand.0 -
You just need to bulk the entire rest of your body to ridiculous proportions so that your calves look relatively smaller.0

Yes. Do this. 30 day shred is known to have magical muscle reducing powers.0 -
My legs are perfect. Just wanted to share that tidbit. Ballet, gymnastics and biking as a teen, also some rocking genetics. My abs however are nothing to brag about. And i have massive man shoulders.,We all have those areas we get fixated on. I'm happy with being healthy and in shape at the age of 50. It may not be the perfect shape, but its mine,0

A couple of ways:
Don't use your legs for 6 months.
Wear a wet suit, go into the ocean and hope a shark comes by and bites off the muscle off you calves.
Truth is genetics are predetermined and the shape and size of your calves (not including the fat over them) are yours till you're dead, or either of the above happen.
Sometimes acceptance is your option.
