Sorry for the " click-baity " title, but here you are haha
SO it occurred to me recently that I do something quite often that I have always thought of as normal but it was recently brought to my attention that it may not be that normal and might not actually be right.
Here it is :
For dinner I might have a pasta dish, I track the meal and we are good to go. During the eating I grow full, plate up what's left and fridge it. Normal so far right?
The next day, when i'm feeling snacky, i'll finish off last nights tea and not add any calories onto that day because I've already costed them in the previous day.
Is that wrong? Because it doesn't feel wrong ( in fact it feels so right because i'm eating more but those days calories aren't moving "
Opinions?
Thank you

If you already counted the calories in the meal, just eating part of them later, it makes no difference.8

this^^ agreed. As long as the calories for the full meal are counted, it doesn't matter if they were counted the day before and "banked" until the day after.4

Perfectly normal and makes sense. If calories have been counted and logged (sounds like your doing this). Then it doesn't matter the time food is eaten, as its still the same amount/calories.
It seems like it works well for you, giving freedom to stop eating, if full. Saving those extra calories (snack) when you need it.4 -
Thank you all, seem to have got the response that I expected and that gives me all the ammo I need to continue doing it the way I am.

Although I track (and try to roughly stay on target) daily, I am more interested in my weekly figures and how I'm doing on average over the 7 day period. Your overall figures for a week will still be on target.0

I regularly move things around within a two day span, especially overnight
I sometimes extend that to a three day span
I very seldom go beyond that.
However, I am maintaining not trying to lose.
You can save a meal in a section of your diary and name it. Delete the ingredients that used to be there. Then add 0.55 of that meal (or whatever you want) back in there. And 0.45 when you eat the remainder.
This will keep your days slightly more accurate and your percentages, if you're eating the whole thing, don't HAVE to be THAT accurate!0
