Prior to starting (again), and getting serious (again) about losing weight (for good this time), my husband and I would have weekly date nights where we would share a loaf of good bread, assorted cheeses, charcuterie, and accompaniments. Oh and wine. Lots of wine. Anyone have ideas for a lower calorie "date-night."

You can try to have those things in smaller portions. Making things homemade is usually less calories than at a restaurant or takeout. You can also try lower calorie versions of things, check out Skinnytaste. her recipes are great for that, very delicious but lightened up versions of your favourite foods. I have tried quite a few of her recipes and I am surprised I prefer many of them over the higher calorie versions!1

Charcuterie with fruit would be nice. Hubby and I like salmon with cabbage stir fry. Our splurge is a few coconut shrimp. Sometimes we like a fresh fruit salad. It can go with either cold cuts or a more breakfast for dinner like eggs or Kodiak pancakes.1
