    when she was 12, she and 3 of her friends got some bottle rockets and when it got dark, one night, they went to a shadowed area near a busy highway and they shot bottle rockets across the highway terrifying drivers. Eventually, someone called the police and these boys were hunted by the men in blue.

    When they saw the cruisers coming, they all fled in different directions. In their infinite 12 year old wisdom, they thought splitting up would be best. And if one was caught, she would take the wrap for all of them.

    Little La_vie_est_belle_toujours scurried through the back yards of houses, always keeping one eye towards the street for a police car. And when she felt she could no longer run, she ducked behind a bush.

    She was breathing heavily from the run, but all of a sudden, heard twigs snap nearby. Someone was coming. She tried to slow and steady his breath as she saw the light of a Maglight glance across the grass in front of the bush. The policeman was trailing that light and paused mere feet away from her safe haven. La_vie_est_belle_toujours held that once frantic breath.

    It seemed like minutes. The police shone his flashlight all around and then took off.

    La_vie_est_belle_toujours exhaled. All 4 would escape being caught that night, but it was something they would never do again.
