    slimgirljo has never been the same since viet nam. Every time she closes her eyes, she sees Charlie hiding in the darkness of the forest. Not that you could never see those *kitten*, mind you. They were fast and they knew their way around the jungle. She remembers the looks on the boy's faces when they walked into that village and... oh Jesus. She shouldn't think about that now. Sometimes she still hears Tex's slow southern drawl. She remembers the smell of Brooklyn's cigarettes. He always had a pack of Luckys. But the boys are gone now... she knows that. It's--it's just that she forgets sometimes. And sometimes the way that others look at her... it makes her think. Sets her on edge. And she feels like she's back there... In the jungle... In the darkness.
