Hi, I'm back for the umteenth time suffering, mainly, from Bread in the Time of Coronavirus weight gain. I am, I think, a stone (14lbs) heavier than I was when the UK closed down on March 20th. For the first six weeks - and particularly over the Easter hols when I had no online teaching to do - I was very low; bordering on depressed. Last week I started leaving the house and cycling has turned me around. Shortly before the lockdown I was diagnosed with IBS so I had started following a low FODMAP elimination diet. I have managed avoid onions, garlic and the like, but carbs, and particularly bread, had become my go-to comfort food. I'm awaiting a biopsy to confirm Coeliac Disease. I can't cut out wheat until after the biopsy, but over the last few days I have avoided bread and started monitoring my diet using mfp. I've cycled every day for five days and worked out for three. Today I have returned to my favourite programme, Smart Girls do Dumbbells. Just loading Day 1's routine into mfp made me feel good, and completing the workout twice made me feel terrific! I Am On My Way!
