Why has my weight increased but everything else has stayed the same?

Today I found some old measurements from July 2016 and was surprised to see that overall, I'm only an inch larger than I was then. I was even more surprised to see that despite only an inch difference, I am now 10lb heavier. I looked for some pics and yep - clothes fit the same and my body looks near identical (give or take that inch). I'm wearing the same clothes I wore then and am (nearly) the same measurements but so much heavier? Anyone able to answer why that might be. I was 18 then and 22 now and have grown a total of a whole half inch. Both images and measurements were taken when trying to loose weight so watching what I eat and exercising more. I am doing more workouts and bodyweight exercises now but I'm highly doubtful that this is 10lb of muscle. I've also recently noted that despite a strong start in weight loss, I'm now not loosing anything when on the scale - only when measuring. Is it increased age?

Because 10lbs is spread out over your entire body, it doesnt just clump in the usual spaces8

At 22? No.
Signed,
64.
P.S. If workouts are recent, water weight for muscle repair may be a factor. If you now, at 22, maintain at calories that would've had you losing at 18, the more probable explanations would be that you're less active now in your daily life (small lifestyle changes can make a big difference), and you're no longer growing (which is a great li'l calorie burner, while it happens).
How long have you been trying to lose, this time? Are you counting calories? How many do you target, at what current size (height/weight)? What's your activity level set at on MFP? What's your job, home life like, activity-wise?
Chris is probably right, between an extra 1/2" in height, and the 10 pounds being a thin, mostly all-over layer, it wouldn't much show. And then there's the water weight fluctuation nonsense, on top of that. Bodies are weird.1 -
Would you not expect to weigh an unspecified a little bit more (while fitting the same clothes) if you grew up by half an inch?
Really #1: half inch and 1" in measurements and tape measurements is well within the margin of error. What if you're 3/4 of an inch taller and no inches wider?
Really #2: workout = water retention in muscles... this is normal, good, and not extra fat.
Really #3: water retention due to menstrual cycle can be several lbs. Anecdotally 3 to 7 is pretty darn common and higher figures totally not unheard off! Are you comparing the same times in your cycle 4 years apart? I will wildly guess that the answer is no!
So sure. You're an adult now, a little bit taller, a little bit stronger, and weight a slightly different weight.
What does that old weight from before you finished growing have to do with anything today?2
