Although I would always prefer fresh fruit and vegetables I do have some canned fruit and vegetables. Can draining and rinsing them really cut calories and sodium.

I feel like it would help with sodium but calories, I'm not so sure. Most of them are canned in water, at least the ones I buy. Wouldn't you want to drain them anyway? I mean, who wants to eat straight up veggies in water?

If they’re canned in syrup, I imagine rinsing them will wash away some of the sugar so yes.

Thinking more of fruit canned in syrup or juice
