What’s up everybody? I have a question about macros. I usually eat a half cup of oats, a banana, and some protein before I hit the gym. I haven’t been counting that towards my daily macro goals. Should I be?

All food counts toward all your calories and macros.

It has calories/macros. Why wouldn't you count it?

What's the logic of not counting it? It's food your body is processing.

Um, yes. Your body is counting it. You should, too.

If you are trying to run an alternate system of eating some food that you believe you burn and then not record your exercise you would really have to dial it in to make sure you actually burn that amount. Otherwise you might be eating too much or too little by the end of the day. To me that would be more trouble than its worth but you may have your own reasons and it is not really for me to tell you how to manage yourself.

The macros would still count to your body whether or not you log them or not.

If none of the answers so far, including mine, have answered your question please provide more detail as to what you are trying to accomplish and your reasoning for not counting your pre-workout meal thus far.
