Old life was wasting away

Does anyone else feel like their old life was just wasting away? I mean, I am so active now. I haven't been outside this much and walking/running/playing and pretty much just enjoying life since I was a kid. I find that I don't watch as much tv anymore. I clean a lot more. I think that's just because I feel like I need to be up doing something. I'm more organized. I have a way better outlook on life. I'm just happier in general. I make better eating choices even when I'm out and am in a situation where there's not much good food to choose from. For example my boyfriend and I got Jack in the Box last Friday and all I got was a junior bacon cheeseburger and ate it without the bun. I figure that's better than a meal with large fries and a coke. I can't believe how inactive I used to be and how poor my eating habits were. It's like I have a whole new appreciation for life. Anyone else feel that?

Completely agree! I used to watch TV way too much. Movies, mindless TV.

I read these statistics in a book from the library:

In a year, the average child spends 900 hours in school and nearly 1,023 hours in front of a TV.

Kids in the United States watch about 4 hours of TV a day. Women are close to 4 hours, men are close to 5 hours.

Now I try not to have the TV on at all when my daughter is in the room. It makes a huge difference in the amount of time I play with her or fold laundry, etc.

And my eating habits used to be so bad. I am really grateful I started thinking about it. I watch the way my parents eat (both overweight) and think, "yikes!"

I have noticed that I watch less TV now, but that could be due to the fact that I'm on HERE so much.

I've noticed that ever since i moved out...i've been watching tv TOO much. Well...if i think about. I only watch tv from 6pm to 8:30pm after work and then head to the gym and go to sleep

But the weekend is a whole other story, especially when all of your friends live an hour away and we all have to schedule our outings. You eventually spend a lot of time flipping the channels.

when I was married the first time for 15 years, I was depressed, fat, unhealthy... you name it I had it.
    I was married to a alcoholic/gambler.
I just gave in to it all, until I wised upa nd got rid of my whole past life.

Now I am remarried, happy, loosing weight and work out more and really carer about myself.

I think most on this site has been there, done that or going through it now and fixing ourselves!!!!

It takes time to start over, heal, loose weight......be healthy....

I have definitely spent WAY more time outside - and my allergies remind me all the time!

I no longer have to be convinced to go outside or spend an afternoon hiking or walking around.

As for TV - i haven't noticed many changes in that area.

I just feel better overall - better physically, mentally, and emotional - way more confidence!

    Cheers to us all!:drinker:
