Getting off phentermine. .keeping it off

I started phentermine March 15, 2013. I weighed 168 pounds and I am 5 feet tall. I was desperate. Since then I have lost 34 pounds and I am a new person. In April, I joined a gym and found a love for weight lifting. I got that high that people talk about when they run. Awesome feeling. My eating habits changed drastically as I found all of my stomach issues were from the horrible things that I have been eating. No more cokes, no more fast food and I've done lots of research about clean eating started making a lot of my own things. As of today, I only take the phentermine 2-3x a week, but ready to come off completely. The thought of gaining my weight back terrifies me just because of how good I feel and how good I look. Has anybody gone off and kept the way off?

I used he 37.5 mg capsules daily for 3 months and lost just over 30 lbs. I stopped taking the med a little over a month ago, and my weight loss has slowed down a little bit, but since I am still following the same routine as when I was taking it, I am still losing. Keep your discipline, and you will be fine

Great, thank you. I'm ok with losing slower, long as I don't gain. Good luck to you!!!

I used phentermine for the first 2.5 months of my journey. I used it as a jump start since i started at 198 lbs and had no desire to change. My Dr said try this for 6 months.

Month 1 i lost 17 lbs and loved the way i felt eating better and having the motivation to exercise and keep it up.

Month 2 i lost 11 lbs and felt that with the jump start i got and the side effects i felt i had a handle on what i needed to do to keep this up, so i weaned off in two weeks.

My weight loss has slowed some over the last year but i still managed to lose 80 lbs on my own. I didnt even start mfp til months after i stopped it. I was just writing every thing down i ate etc

Honestly the hunger does come back. the cravings did not. Until i had something that sparked them again. It will be totally up to you if you gain the weight back. I learned the tools and resources needed to keep me on track and i LOVE the gym so that has been a huge factor.

You can do it! Just put your mind to it and you can do it. I have a few pills left and the dr told me if i was going to be in a situation ( big family get together etc with lots of food and temptation) i could take one. Im doing ok with out them.
