Anyone Got Back On Their Bike (after a long break) or Started Cycling During Lockdown?

This week is my eighth week of being back on the bike. In those eight weeks, I've logged just under 300 miles. Today I rode 23 miles, my longest ride yet. The ride out felt great but the ride back was a bit of a struggle. While I'm building up my stamina again, I'm riding on a rails-to-trails path that is lovely. It has a very gentle grade uphill for the outbound half of the ride, and then of course the inbound half of the ride is the reverse, a very gentle grade downhill. This particular ride has benches along the route, so along the way, I can stop and rest periodically. (The photo in my avatar is of a different bike path, which runs by a harbor.) I love my bike!4

First hill-climbing session, after my initial eight weeks of building up stamina over 300 miles of pretty much flat riding. Went better than I expected. I'm happy.2
