The Ultimate Accountability Challenge (UAC) provides both weight losers and maintainers with incredible accountability partners AND an emphasis on life-changing healthy basic habits.
This is not the flash-in-the-pan 'biggest anything" short-term challenge. This is the real deal!! We are a non-commercial volunteer group with a proven track record of significant team member success.
We enthusiastically welcome our returning veterans and newcomers too!
The accountability is a daily report of:
1)More than 20 minutes of daily exercise;
2) Tracking the caloric intake of both food and beverage;
3) Consuming no more than your chosen limit of daily calories
4)Daily or every third day reporting of your fulfillment of the above.
A non-fulfillment of any of the above equals a Pass Day. There are 3 Pass Days allowed per month
Those who end the month with less than 4 Pass days are celebrated in the monthly Winner's Circle Qualification.

This challenge and this team are life savers! Not only am I losing the weight that threatens my health, I get huge support from the people who stick to this challenge. Join! Post every day, even if your day has been a 'failure', or maybe especially on those days and see if you can make it to the Winners' Circle!5

I need this!2

This challenge is great because it helps you develop the key habits we all need for healthy lifestyle. I love that within the principle is the freedom to make it work for you, so while the goal is to exercise for at least 20 minutes, what form of exercise you do is your choice.
Come and try it out and I'll share some fun stories during the month (my life is pretty entertaining!)5 -

It truly is entertaining to hear Dory's stories. (and others as well)
The variation on how best to apply the basic principles works for food as well as exercise. It doesn't matter whether you (a) are aiming to lose OR (b) maintain OR even (c) gain-on-purpose (maybe coming back from an illness or injury or eating disorder for example). It doesn't matter what eating style works for you (vegan / vegetarian / keto / low-carbs / high-protein) it is for you to determine what will fit your own style and circumstances right now as you gradually refine and solidify new sustainable lifestyle habits that fit YOU.
And sharing is OPTIONAL - as much or as little as you are comfortable with day-by-day - but if you need help / support / guidance (or a big round of applause for "i DID it!") just ask. We are happy to oblige.

To be part of this team is where you will find strength, encouragement, liability, dedication, friends, support and a great way to loose your weight with lots of help from others.3

This challenge is amazing! I've been a part of it for a year-and-a-half now, and it's been absolutely great!3

I'd highly recommend joining this challenge! I've been in it since August. I had some months over the winter where I had a bunch of pass days and didn't make the winner's circle, but the great thing about this group is that they still support you and keep you focused on making better habits, even if you're not doing great in the challenge! I've had a great past couple months as part of the UAC and have really noticed how its habits have started becoming second-nature. I credit this challenge and the supportive team members with helping me improve in my tracking, limiting of calories, and daily exercise-- even helping me start a walking habit during quarantine!4

UAC should be made law! Trust me it works! OK, so I've had 5 pass day this month and yes it is beginning to show... But this group will keep you going until you make it to the much coveted winners circle! No weigh in, lovely group, join now!2

Great supportive group and challenge. I joined last September and reached goal weight in November. It was a thrill to finally fit in my favorite jeans. The UAC helps me to establish healthy habits so I don't gain the weight back. Our moderator @RangerRickL posted a true saying above: to be successful, we must plan and prepare to win.0

Thanks @fatbambi2017 and @Hollis100!!

This challenge is great! May is my third month and I will be in June challenge for sure. If I didn't gain weight and even lost a bit during the quarantine time it is because of the challenge and group.3

UAC is a great way of fostering new habits in a supportive and encouraging atmosphere. June will be my 20th month, and I love the comradeship and accountability. This group has helped me finally reach and maintain my goal weight since late last year.
Many thanks to @RangerRickL for keeping us on track with compassion and humour.

UAC is probably one of the best kept secrets on MFP.
It is a fabulous supportive community around the deceptively toughest challenge on MPF.
Anyone can keep up an exercise routine for a week or two or do a massive catch-up to keep in the game. It is MUCH harder to do something positive for your health every day.
UAC is about creating habits.
You set your calorie budget, you set your own activity. The goal is to do it consistently. 20 mins or more activity, track and stay in budget. That's it. Sounds simple. Harder in reality.
Join UAC. It's the best way to learn to manage your weight and your health.
You will not find a more supportive community in which to do it in either.

I have been a part of this challenge since January. I haven’t made the winner’s circle yet but I have been learning and then living new habits and have lost weight each and every month. In the past, if I had a bad day, it would turn into a bad week, then a bad month. Now, I just jump right back on track. I finally feel that I am at the point where I feel that this is truly a lifestyle (and not just something I give lip service too) and I will be better able to maintain my weight once I reach my goal. I have joined other groups but the UAC is by far the best, and only one I even look at now. The members are supportive, encouraging and actually care about each other. In the five months I have been a part of this group, not once have I ever read a negative or judgmental response to any post.6

May is my 26th month in UAC.
I think of it as the bar in the old tv show “Cheers” “where everybody knows your name...”
It’s my MFP home.
I credit UAC (especially the longterm maintainers @RangerRickL & @craigo3154 & @w8goal4life) for teaching me - by example - that maintenance happens by a few key habits done every day.
I keep my calories where they need to be daily.
I exercise daily. (No rest days)
I track everything daily.
I’ve kept my avg monthly weight under a BMI of 24 for the past 21 months- thanks to UAC!
My BMI used to be 34.2 Jan 2016. And was about there my adult life.
UAC has helped create a MIRACLE!
Please try it! I recommend giving UAC 3 months. Be kind to yourself. It can take awhile to build the habits in a way that works for you. But the effort is worth it! To feel in control, to lose AND maintain, to be so much stronger & healthier!
And as @readyornot1234 said: in 26 months, I’ve Never heard a negative or disrespectful word. Likely, in k okay he part, due to our Cheerleader & Culture Setter @RangerRickL who is one of the kindest people you’ll ever meet & a deceptively skilled leader❣️2 -

One of our members just posted ...I am out of the Winner's Circle, but I still woke up this morning wondering if I was going to get my walk in without getting rained on. I never once thought about not doing it, even though it doesn't matter now for the WC. In the past, I would have completely sabotaged the remainder of the month, planning then on "starting again" on the 1st.
THAT sums up nicely the whole point / strategy behind UAC - internal reset of auto-responses .... The Winners Circle is just the extra external goal.
Give it a couple of months, and this will be you. And once it IS you ... well ... some of our members have continued for years for the pleasure of the group support even after reaching and consistently staying at maintenance.
