Exercise how do you know how many calories

In the daily diary it has a section for exercise and ive been trying to work out if i have to manually add it, do i have to google activities and time and get the calories burned and add it in myself?
Im surprised i cant find a check like the food has whivh has hot me thinking perhaps its there?

there is a database on mfp just like there is for food. A lot of people find the estimates are a tad high. You might need to half them or... 3/4 them.
Nothing can be verified for exercise because its a bit different for everyone. It's just an approximation.
So for example if I go for a jog, I look up "running, 10 min mile" or what ever speed I went on average (distance I went over time it took). Then say it says I burned 100 calories, I overwrite it with 50 or 75. And then track my weight loss over the next 3 weeks to see how accurate my assumed deficit is to the same rate of loss.1
