So i always measured avacado calories wrong from what i have noticed i always over estimated the calories. So today i weighed my avacado without it’s peel and it came to be 60 grams i usually eat half an hass avacado with my toast and when i went to log the 60 grams i have noticed there are many entries with different calories for a hass avacado which one do you guys usually go by?

I usually just choose the USDA entries for raw fruits, vegetables, and meats.

The entry above is a good one, but I couldn't find it last night (I also had avocado) so I just grabbed another one that was 2 calories a gram (which is what avocado is).

The trick is you have to put an "s" at the end. "Avocado" doesn't work, "Avocados" does.

It's maddening to me that Avocados doesn't "stick" in my Recents list. I have to look it up Every. Time.

Wow, this is helpful. I always wondered why I was never able to find it when I needed it. Thanks!

I type in "avocado commercial" and that entry comes up first for me. Also take out the pit before weighing. I believe the entry is for the edible portion. If im wrong... it hasn't stopped me from losing weight.

Not that one I linked...which is the MFP admin-entered one...there are a lot of "avocado commercial" entries, but they don't all have the 11 different measurement choices, I don't think.

Does the one you use have that? Because for some reason my ability to search for Avocado became corrupted in that one upgrade they did when all My Meals disappeared a few months back. :(

I do "avocados, raw, California." Don't know if that's different than "all commercial varieties," but I know what we buy most places are CA type avocados and the FL ones are lower cal.

Thats a good question... I'm not sure I guess. I think it is saved in my preferred foods maybe from when I was here starting 2014 (prebabies).

I haven't used MFP to log in a while because the database is a mess. I think your best bet is to add these tricky entries to favorites as soon as you find them. My breaking point was when I had to fish for a decent "banana" entry in a long list of "banana bread" and "banana pepper" (looks like that one is fixed now). You would think that finding a basic food would be easy.
