How to choose a competition

For those of you who do/have done competitions how do you go about choosing one?
I'm looking to do my first one in a year or 2. I want to do bikini but I don't want to accidently pick one that's way too advanced for me lol.

Competition selections can have much to do with your long term goals if are choosing to plan out your success.

Once you inked in a long term, then we select short term goals to step us in that direction.

If you were off for several years, then I might suggest to take some time to dissect what blocks you can build to end up at your long term goal.

I'm not sure if this might be helpful or not without knowing more info.
