Weight fluctuation throughout the day

I had never really weighed myself before starting my mini weight loss journey, but now that I have, I've noticed that my weight fluctuates throughout the day, for example in the morning I will weigh 124.5lbs and by the end of the day, I'll weight 128lbs. Is this normal...?

Totally normal. If you want your lowest weight, I suggest, right after you get up and pee, take off all your clothes and hop on that scale. That's what I do! You'll be several pounds heavier at night, after eating, with a gut full of food/poo.

Sure. There's no black hole in your body that makes everything you eat and drink go poof. Those things stay in your stomach and intestines for various amounts of time. Plus salt might lead to a temporary increase of water, as does sitting behind a desk for example. I also find that not drinking enough, and especially after sweaty sport my body holds onto water more.

Yeah. Do a simple test. Go weigh yourself now, note what the number is. Then without changing your clothes, going to the bathroom or anything else, go get a large glass of water, and hold it in your hand while you are on the scale. You get a higher number, right? Then drink the water, and keep the empty glass in your hand. Weigh again. You should get the same number as when the water was still in the glass. If you can and want to continue the experiment, don't eat or drink anything else before you have to go pee, then weigh again after you peed, holding that same empty glass. A different number again, right?

Some things that cause weight to go up that aren't related to fat gain:
    - you eat something
    - you drink something
    - you do something that causes temporary water retention, which means your body keeps more water in and pees less out
    - you have heavier clothes on

Some things that cause weight to go down that aren't related to fat loss:
    - you pee
    - you poop
    - you sweat
    - you bleed out your period
    - other bleeding if you're in an accident or something

This is why it's recommended that you weigh yourself naked, in the morning after you pee and before you eat or drink anything. That's the most consistent time for your body weight, leading to more precise comparisons. It's still not perfect - I tend to weigh less in the weekends simply because I usually have a bowel movement around 9AM - weekdays I have to weigh in and get to work before that, weekends I sleep in and wait with my weigh in until the movement is done.
