Experience with barefoot shoes?

Tried an experiment today... out and about with the family. I got antsy while the kiddos fished and decided to run the parking lot in my barefoot sandals. Ankles and knees were fine! Straps were a little too loose from wading in the river the other day, and lots of turns equaled multiple blisters on the balls of my feet. Oops. I felt the rubbing, but thought it was just some dirt (both feet had some in the same spot). My bad. Hopefully they heal soon enough for my triathlon this week. With duct tape and socks I can walk OK.2

Thanks for the advice, everyone! I bought a pair of Merrel Vapor Glove 3’s today, after trying on a couple of different models. These look enough like normal shoes to pass into my aesthetics, so I guess they are a good first step (ha!) in the barefoot world. We’ll see how I like them.1 -
