Hi everyone, I know weight can fluctuate and I have actually gained 3lbs in my first week. It will be water retention because I have looked and only been slightly over 1,200 calories per day.
How do you keep motivated if you do not see the figures reducing on the scales? 😭😭😭

I'm guessing you're not at maintenance then, if you're eating 1200 kcal? (you posted in the weight maintenance forum)
I've been logging and losing weight for long enough to know that it will fluctuate and I have learned to trust the process.
Patience really is a virtue. But if the scale really doesn't do what it's supposed to, over a longer period (a month or so) it is a good idea to check if you're doing everything correctly. Checking if you're logging correctly more specifically: weighing everything and using correct database entries.
What also helps to stick to your weight loss endeavor is not being overly restrictive (1200 calories is low). Persevering and being patient is a lot easier when you're not suffering motivation is fleeting, no one is motivated all the time. Discipline and perseverance is a lot more important!3
