Right now my primary goal is walking endurance. Its 90 degrees outside and very humid so i don't want to exercise. Can't even go to the mall because cancer that spread to my brain (and damaged my vision in such a way i can't safely (or legally) drive anymore. So that leaves me with my treadmill at home. So does anyone have any apps or ideas to avoid boredom? My longest walk so far has been 40 minutes (yesterday
) and i listen to music which helps, but i was wondering about any other ideas or apps for making the treadmill not quite so boring

I have my treadmill in the basement facing the TV, I don't know if your vision may be an issue but I find that the TV is a good distraction when I'm on the treadmill or bike trainer.

My treadmill also faces a TV. That’s my primary source of entertainment. Because of ice storms this winter; I did some of my longest marathon training runs on the treadmill and I would have gone out of my mind without the TV.

I’m also fortunate that my current TM has a system to follow a mapped route (for elevation) and the TM screen shows the google street view photos. So that’s a little extra entertainment.

Even if you don’t have all that, following a “program” on your treadmill (most have something) can provide elevation and/or speed changes which can mix things up a little so it’s not so monotonous.

Music, audio books, podcasts, etc can also help.

Zwift, hands down. All you would need is an Apple or Chromecast on a TV and a foot pod ($39 on Zwift store). Turns your workout into a video game.

Another option-if you don’t have a TV but do have a tablet, apps like “BitGym” which will display a video of a route (hiking in a mountain or something) and attempt to match it to your speed (that part is kind of hit or miss but it’s at least some scenery).

Podcasts and audiobooks are popular as well. LibriVox does free audiobooks that are past their copyright so lots Of classics with generally good to excellent readers.
Podcasts can be anything under the sun. Whatever you’re interested in.
There are probably treadmill workouts on YouTube too-if you’d like a trainer in your ear.

I like to watch a show. YouTube or Netflix, something binge worthy that you save only for the treadmill!

I use Zwift and also walk/run on my treadmill when there's a show I'm interested in on TV.
