My Fitbit and MyFitnessPal app won’t sync

It’s been like this for a while now, I’ve uninstalled installed disconnected and reconnected the apps on my phone and on the computer, but they won’t sync with each other yet it still says there connected. On MyFitnessPal I have it set to track steps from Fitbit but it still says zero steps but it says I’m tracking steps on the Fitbit. I have a Fitbit Alta.

The problem probably lies somewhere in the various accounts.

By the time you disconnect out of both apps and web sites, sign out of both apps and web sites, you might as well start new accounts, and connect everything to new accounts too! (I would talk to fitbit about moving your band to a new account but I believe there is no restriction especially if you remove it from the old account first)

Of course... err... well... it ain't fun!

As a minimum: disconnect fitbit as connect app on MFP web. disconnect fitbit as step source on MFP web. disconnect fitbit as connected app on phone. Disconnect fitbit as step source on phone. Disconnect mfp as linked account on fitbit. Ignore any of this that doesn't fit. sign out of fitbit web. sign out of fitbit phone. sign out of mfp web. sign out of mfp phone. uninstall fitbit phone app. uninstall mfp phone app. reboot phone. Start fresh again. login to mfp web. login to fitbit web. connect the two accounts first from mfp. then from fitbit. ignore all that doesn't fit. load fitbit app. connect fitbit app to fitbit. synchronize. load mfp app. ensure that your setting match. ensure fitbit app is connected. ensure that fitbit step source is connected. wasn't this loads of fun. ignore all that doesn't fit (I haven't done any of this in ages; but, hey: the above is what a clean install would look like, right?) :anguished:

How long is “a while”? There are still unresolved issues from Maintenance on 6/5, and I believe there was an unrelated Fitbit syncing issues in the days leading up to that. So if a while is the last couple of weeks-it could be you’re stuck in the pile of backlogged sync requests.
