Weight gain after restarting weight lifting routine two weeks prior?

Hi guys, I am in the middle of week 2 after restarting my weight lifting routine at the gym. I workout 5-6 days a week with a push-pull-hypertrophy split, but my body has been responding strangely. Perhaps its due to a cortisol response to restarting after a two month hiatus from any weight lifting(primarily did calisthenics and trail running during quarantine), but I am hesitant to attribute this weight gain and subsequent salt cravings to that reason due to the fact that I've only begun experiencing this in the last 4 days. Maybe its due to a larger magnitude of protein synthesis?

Any thoughts...?

Weight gained over just 4 days is almost certainly water weight of some kind.

How much weight are we talking about?

Without getting complicated, I'd attribute that weight gain to water retention for increased muscle repair, and the salt cravings as related through electrolyte balance.

If weight came on quickly without a related change in calorie intake (or a noticeable reduction in daily life activity), then it's almost certainly water weight, not fat. Since not fat, why worry?
