Girlies - I have a quick question for you.

I find that I put on A LOT of weight around the wrong time of the month - I am talking 5 kg in a couple of days. I was wondering if anyone else experienced this? It usually drops off again in the week after, but it's still very un-nerving.

Also, does anyone have anyone have any tips on how to battle cravings with PMS? My cravings are increased ten fold, also with a feeling of being sick whenever I eat food, so the only food I will eat is food that I am willing to feel very sick for! Also, does anyone have any exercises to suggest while it's TOM? I tried my normal exercise routine, however I fainted less than 10 minutes into it. I have also tried less intense versions of my normal routine, which had the same results. Should I put exercise on a hold for the week, or try something new?

Thank you in advance!

Muddyevil.

I gain around three pounds from retained water two weeks before my period into the week of. Afterwards, I've noticed I not only drop the water weight, but I drop an additional pound to two pounds the week of. As for the cravings, mine are terrible the week before my period. I usually just give in to my cravings and go back to restriction the week after.

I can gain up to 10lbs while PMSing/periods. It's normal

As for cravings, work them in your calories

For the feeling of being sick, have you mentioned that to your doc?

Yes, and it's all water retention. I crave salty things, so I'll give in a little bit while staying within calories. And I drink more water than normal.

As for the feeling faint -- you might have a drop in your iron levels. I'm anemic anyway, and I know mine drop too. I sometimes add an iron supplement to my dailies. But ask your doctor about it for sure.

I find Yoga and Pilates good; I tend to get a lot of cramps and the core elements of both these help.
