What’s a good portion size of cooked rice for dinner & at least a rough idea of the calories?

Finding it hard to work out a healthy portion size of white rice cooked.
I have Coles brand white rice planned for dinner tonight.

1/2 a cup or 1 cup? Any advice?

I’d like to know the calories too.

Thanks.

Eat however much you like, and will be happy counting in your calories.
Base the calories off the weighed uncooked rice.

Doesn't the Cole's brand have nutrition label? Coles brand is in the MFP database too.

I'm not an expert, but to answer for today:
    Aussie cup is 250 grams.

Half a cup of white rice ( 125 grams ) is about 470 calories.
That should be enough to provide a filling meal and have leftover. And if you eat it all, that's fine.
On the side you can have a chicken breast with vegies.

A curry would be nice lol - keep off the oil.

Of course, it should balance out with whatever else you have eaten through the day so it doesn't go over your daily calorie count

I use rice as a side to my dinner often and typically make 1/4 cup uncooked rice for a serving. Once cooked it makes about 3/4 cup.

There are some listings for calories of cooked rice in the database. A cup of cooked white rice is roughly 200 calories. Your serving size is what fits in your daily caloric intake.

Depending on what else will be in the meal, I have 50 - 100 grams of cooked rice and use this entry: "Rice, white, long-grain, regular, cooked, unenriched, with salt"

I usually do 45 g uncooked rice (1/4 cup uncooked) which ends up being a little less than a cup of cooked rice, and is around 160-170 calories.
