Which step counter?

Apologies if this has been asked - I did do a search but not much came up.

I have a Huawei phone and a Huawei Band 3 Pro watch. I want to log my steps to MyFitnessPal and couldn't see a way of doing this so I installed Google Fit onto my phone. This works well for steps but, it doesn't work well for cycling. Yesterday when out on my bike, it only logged about 90 minutes of a four hour ride - I am assuming that the rest of the time it thought I was driving. Fear not, I log my rides on Strava and have that synced with MyFitnessPal - however, the 90 minutes that Google fit recorded, I can't get rid of. I can delete it but it comes back.

So, anyone know of an app for an android phone that will record steps only and sync them to MyFitnessPal? I can see some apps out there - the one I was looking at was "Pacer pedometer" but wondered in anyone knew of anything better.

Many thanks in advance.

Since you get actual exercise, I wouldn't worry much about step tracking. (If you are on your feet all day regularly at work or for transport, then you might want to up your activity level/base calories, and in that case, a few typical days of tracking steps whether or not it syncs to MFP will give you an idea of what you might want to adjust your base net calories to). Unless in a physical job, they are likely to be negligible in comparison to the cycling calories (assuming you also log walks/hikes/runs in Strava).
