My doctor has put me on a low fat diet. Would love suggestions for dinners, particularly fish.

When you say "low-fat diet" does he mean anything specific? There are different kinds of fat, some good for us, some terrible for us. Some answers depend on why he specified a low-fat diet. If simply for calorie restriction, that's one thing, if for some other ailment, that's another. Here is my ABSOLUTE favourite dish and the adaptions I use. It will be very low fat.

Follow her recipe except don't put in any oil (it serves no purpose as far as I can tell) and (here's my secret invention I am so proud of) replace the nuts with a head of cauliflower, boil it until soft and then blend with a bit of either water or non-dairy milk to a thick sauce.
I always loved this recipe but cashews are expensive. I moved countries and I can't find them at all so I tried this replacement and was amazed when it worked. Now even when I can get cashews I don't because I'm cheap and because having to remember to soak them was the worst part of cooking this.
The sauce is great on pretty much anything. Pasta, fish, meat, tofu, mashed potatoes, rice.1 -
With fish, the simplest is to grill them. Whole, or wrapped in baking paper, depends on the fish. You need no extra fat at all, just salt, pepper and lemon juice if you wish.
Other than this, you need to be more specific, even e.g. plain pasta or pasta with tomato sauce is low fat, so how complicated is what you are looking for, and what should it include or not include?0
