Stress killing my appetite-having hard time eating cals.

This is unusual for me typically when I'm stressed I would turn to food for comfort. Recently the opposite has been true. I'm going through some big changes career wise and while very exciting it's also causing me some stress. I've had little appetite and have been forcing myself to eat. I've come in way under my cals the last few days without intending to do so. I know this is not healthy and I don't want to screw up my metabolism. I wanted to work out tonight and now I'm afraid to create even more of a cal deficit if that makes sense. I'm already almost 800 cals under and that's with logging dinner. Anyone else have issues with this? It's definitely abnormal for me to not want to eat!

Nope, when I'm anxious I'll do the same. What you need to do is break out the calorie dense foods- nuts, cheese, oils, nut butters, etc. This way, you may not feel like you're eating more, but you'll get the calories and good fats that you need. You will have to be strict with yourself though, as I find that if I don't get enough for a few days my appetite will drop making it even harder to reach my goal.
  • I'm in the same boat! Food has been pushed to the very back of my mind or so it seems. I'm happy with that, but I agree with not wanting to mess up metabolism and it's not good to eat too little. I don't like seeing a low net calorie count. ):

Thanks for the responses, glad to know I'm not alone. I had some olives and cheese for a snack this afternoon and ate more at dinner than I normally do. Tomorrow will be better-going to try and relax and not be so anxious!
