Does kayaking really burnt that much??

I went kayaking on the ocean for about 45 minutes, maybe a little more, today. I went at a moderate pace, and I am an average kayaker as I have only been about 5 times. I am 18, female, and weigh 148 lbs. MFP says that I burned 252 calories in 45 minutes??

While it was difficult, tiring, and a good shoulder/upper arm workout, my legs were (obviously) sedntary the whole time. So I find it hard to believe that I burned this much? I wasn't really sweating either, despite how tiring I found it.
I know that is is difficult for MFP to get the exact calorie amount, but I figured they would be pretty close?

I ended up logging 30 minutes which equated to 160 or so cals.

That's only about 5.5 calories per minute...that's actually a pretty easy workout...I guess it would also depend on how much you were rowing and how much just chillin' you were doing...It's very plausible that you burned around 250 calories though. To compare, running at about a 10 minute mile pace will burn roughly 300 calories in 30 minutes give or take...roughly 10 calories per minute. So no...I don't think 250 ish for 45 minutes is way out there or anything.

Nope, I'd say around 250 is right for 45 min. Your legs might be doing nothing but your arms are doing all the work!
