I tricked myself with the scale!! I put the setting on kg because i don't know what the weight is from looking at kg because i only know pounds. So i figured when i lose a few kg I'll change it back to pounds and then do it again and so on that way i can see if the scale is going down i just don't know by how much! You can also set it to stones if you don't know stones

How often do you weigh yourself? If you are unable, emotionally, to do it daily, switch to weekly or even monthly. A normal variance of weight can occur from day to day (and with women during certain times of the month), so if that bothers you, then just make your "weigh-in days" further apart and make a ritual of it.

I did something just like this. I held a gallon of water everyday when I weighed in. Occasionally I would hold two or three gallons of water at a time just so the scale wouldn't know if I was losing or gaining weight. It's an amazing system. You should try it. I'm thinking about putting rocks in my pockets to try out this stones thing next time I weigh in.
  • Check out "Body TrackIt". It is a super cool app that tracks pictures, measurements, body fat... It makes it easy to compare and see progress. It even summarizes your progress in inches, body fat, BMI, and weight. It is a fun and positive way to track! :). They even have great tips and tricks!

I find it easier to not have a scale in my house. I weigh at the gym.

I still weigh myself everyday... lol can't avoid it plus it's a motivator to not have me go back to bed at 4:40 in the am when I need to go running... but I only allow myself to track my weight every 4 days so that hopefully I'm not tracking water weight fluctuations as much.

    GAH, iPhone only.

I had to overcome my addiction by staying away from home whenever I could. I didn't take the scale with me and had to be extra careful with what I ate, in case coming home to weigh would disappoint me more than when I left. Hard stuff, yo.

as part of my recovery i had a really hard time stopping weighing myself. i didn't want to throw it out because then my fiance would ask why the scale was gone, and i didn't want to have to lie to him. it was hard at first but up until today i went almost 2 months without weighing daily (seeing weight gain was a trigger for me causing relapses) - since eating more now and no longer heavily restricting i have only gained 2 lbs, which is better than daily seeing it fluctuate and seeing 5 lbs heavier intially. thats a good idea switching it to kg, lol i have no idea how that conversion works.
