Low B12 AFTER vitamins?!?!?

Ok here's a question. I have spoken with my doctor so this is after medical advice. I was extremely low in b12 when I went to the doctor in February (blood test results) and I cut gluten from my diet because I was slightly allergic and started taking a b12 supplement with 1000mcg a day of b12. I was at a 257 level and my August results showed only an increase of 100 points!! help! has anyone else come across this problem??? My doctor doesn't seem worried and I am healthy (and a meat eater) other than this stupid deficiency!
Any advice would be great. I'm going to start getting monthly injections but I figured I'd ask the crowd!!! So odd

I had a similar situation. My level was 211. I took shots for 6 months and went to 927. Now I'm on 1000 mg daily instead of shots. Try increasing foods rich in b12 and take the shots. You will feel a lot better!0
