Wondering if anyone would like to share how they carb cycle.

Where do you get your carbs from/where do you cut them out

If you are low carb all the time, what does a typical day look like for you? What is your carb number to cal ratio when looking at nutrition labels?

Thanks :)

Hey, i dont carb cycle (yet).

My carbs come form dark green vggies and sweet potato.

I have as many dakk green veggies as i want all day and sweet potato directly after a workout.

on a low carb day i will eat max 60g carb and on a high carb crazy traiining day i can eat as much as 200-300 gram carbs.

Carbs really dont like me so i am learning to be careful with them!

I am low carb, but not Ketonic. I don't count carbs, just eliminated certain categories.

No grains (breads, tortillas, chips, etc)
    No rice
    No corn
    No starches
    No carby processed food.
    No drinks with calories

Only exception being directly before or after a practice (wrestling/submission grappling) or heavy workout. At that point I might have an energy bar, or Whey protein in a cup of milk, maybe even a single slice of toast.

Essentially, I am on a Meat and Veggies diet with a little Fruit. Still end up with about 20%-30% of daily calories coming from carbs, up to about 50% on practice days.

It takes a while to break yourself from these foods, and it's not entirely easy to eat out much of the time, but it's been wonderfully effective. I have lost 10 lbs in 6 weeks with no actual intention of losing weight, and with good lighting I have a nice 6-pack when I flex. My wife has lost 20 lbs and several inches in 6 weeks with no exercise and just as many calories as before.

There's a lot you can do to eat most of your regular foods. We have taco and burger salads, eat eggs for breakfast, replace potato in stews or casseroles with fibrous veggies like celery/carrots/parsnips, etc etc.

In addition, we both feel better, sleep better, and my wife's health has shown a clear improvement. I'm all for it!

I have not been cycling on a schedule. I usually stay under 30 and have had a few days over. I have had one really bad carb day in the last few weeks but I am still consistent on my weight loss. I get most of my carbs from spinach, broccoli, and nuts. Feel free to add me.

I've just started a low carb diet, not cycle just lower carbs, I'm hitting about 40 carbs a day now and pretty happy with, I love the way I feel on low carb and agree I do sleep way better now. I did low carb last year and lost 30 pounds I've kept it all off with not a lot of effort, you simple don't want to eat break or sugar that often any more. I'm back here to lose another 50 pounds to be at my ideal healthy weight for my height!!!

I haven't been losing as quickly this time around but I have been exercising very heavily and think my body is just getting used to the difference.

My only trouble is meeting my 1200 calories min, there isn't a lot of calories out there, I do eat a fair amount of protein powder type meals as I don't want to eat as much meat so that does have an effect.
    Good luck

Wow! So could you tell me a typical days worth of food for you or maybe friend me so I can see your diary? I too don't eat a lot of grains, brown rice and quinoa is really it. I'm not really reaching my cal goals though either.

I have learned a lot of sugars in foods, but not carbs in fruits and veggies. Do you have a lot of dairy?

I've been using MFP for about a year & a half, but have only been doing low carb for just under 3 months. That's the only time I've lost the weight. 18 pounds lost officially a few mornings ago.

    I'll eat:
    meats
    cheeses
    lots of nuts & seeds
    veggies, veggies veggies!
Atkins products have improved so much in the past few years - they are a staple in my way of eating
My carbs come from fruits & beans - as long as they aren't processed carbs, I'm okay with that.

My carb count is usually >30g a day. Only occasionally, I'll cheat and have a high carb day just to "shock" my system if I've hit a plateau. It seems to jumpstart the weight loss again.

I really don't need to lost any more weight, but I'd love to lose about 5 more to have that "buffer" and also to be able to say I've lost over 20 pounds. :)

    Good luck to you!

My diary is public if you ever want to look. Had a roll with lunch yesterday (the horror!), but was absolutely ravenous after ending the day before with a 1146 calorie deficit.
