Post Surgery Appetite

Earlier this week I had out-patient surgery to remove some cancer from my leg which is giving me a couple issues. I'm used to either skating 10-18 miles or doing a couple hours of hard cardio 5x a week. Getting back on my feet is gonna take a minute and I'm having a real hard time sticking to the calorie allotment for a short sedentary girl vs all the joyful calories I get when I'm tearing it up.
Now part of that is I didn't really feel up to standing in my kitchen and cooking anything elaborate for a couple days so my meals haven't been super satisfying. Now that I'm on my feet I can go back to cooking and I'll be taking in a lot of protein so I can regrow the flesh they took out and heal up but... I dunno, I guess I just wanted to whine that restrictive calories are hard and I'm hungry all the time when I'm not used to it.

Are you at a calorie deficit, for weight loss? If so, it can be smart to take a maintenance break for a while after surgery, to give priority to healing.6 -
I've been at a small deficit with an eye towards increasing my skating speed. Now that you mention it
I can plan to maintain for a couple weeks but I definitely want to avoid the whole... I got injured and gained 20 lbs because I kept eating like an athlete thing
