I've tried for a few years to lose weight. I can usually lose 10 or so lbs, then can't seem to lose anymore. Often times I get discouraged and quit.
Around June 1 I got invited to go to Florida with a friend. I decided to lose 20LBS before the trip, so I could fit in a swimsuit. I went high protein low carb and worked hour an hour or more a day (cardio) 5-6 days a week. Also, only water to drink, Before we left for Florida I lost 3 lbs. That was it. An entire month and 3 stinking pounds.
Then, July 4 we leave for Florida. I didn't expect to lose anything. I wasn't crazy with eating, but I wasn't as cautious in what I ate. I drank sweet tea and Dr Pepper. i somehow LOST 5.5 lbs on vacation without trying! (I'll blame the Florida sweat!)
I'm home now...and am back to my diet full force. But am discouraged....cause I lost easily while on vacation, but when I try I get little results. I DO have PCOS and Thyroid issues as a result of my PCOS. Due to that i don't ever expect to lose a lot...and probably will never make it below 200 (I'm 235 now...) But I would like to lose 20 lbs or so and SEE results of my hard work!

I guess I need someone to tell me it isnt a lost cause so I dnt give up.

Mrs thyroid here, you CAN do! It just takes more time than a month and 3 lbs in a month is actually decent loss. Maybe do some research so you can be clearer on what to expect timeframe wise on weightloss..

Do you count calories? Keep a food diary? It works. There’s a significant learning curve but calorie counting works.

If you have health issues you may have to fiddle with the numbers and you may have to accept a slow rate of loss. But somewhere there is a number that puts you in a calorie deficit. You just have to find it and find a way to live with it long enough. It can be done.
