Chronic adductor issues

So I’ve been running for ages now and I can never seem to get on top of my adductor pain during my run fully. It never worsens but even with extended rest and physio it never seems to fully go away. I’ve done everything my physio has said To do re resting, stretching and proper graded return to running and even had scans to rule out a tear etc but I’m just sick of it. It’ll be gone and then slowly return no matter what. I can run through it if I have to but I kinda need this to stop as it distracts from my run. Anyone got any tips?

If the pain/issue hasn’t gone away completely then perhaps maybe whatever rehab the physio has prescribed isn’t quite right and the excersises need to be amended?
I had an ongoing ankle issue that kept coming back, and went through a few physios that gave me the same excersises that didn’t help until I found one that was willing to think outside the box and really identify what it was that was causing the issue and focus on strengthening that before returning to running without distraction.
I know how frustrating it is, especially when you love running. Hope you get some answers!1 -

Thank you. I’ve tried a few but there is one I haven’t tried yet so I may have a look and see if I can get some more help.0 -

Ugh - I’m sorry you’re having to deal with this. An injury that nags is never any fun!!
Have you considered any Graston to break the fascia up around the adductor? I was running for while and found this helped. The other thing I’d consider is strengthening these muscles. Ever since I started doing direct adductor work, I’ve had no issues at all. If you combine both you may find some good results (I have!!!)
The other thing I use is Traditional Chinese Medicine. I use Kwan Loong oil after heavy workouts - it’s magical. I love it..!! (I did a crazy heavy leg day yesterday and slathered this stuff all over my knees and lower lats/back and had the best sleep ever last night). Some additional supports like that - post run, could also be helpful!1
