Hey everyone! Hope you all are safe. Ive been doing the OG insanity workout. I did month 1 twice and lost about 8 lbs both times. Im 6ft 1 male, and currently weigh 93.5 kg! Im in the second week of month 2 and for the life of me I can't push through it! I can't do it like I feel like I'm made of lead as I'm going through it whether its pushups or jumps or anything. Idk if I'm lacking motivation or what it is but I feel like I've hit a wall. I really don't know whats wrong all of a sudden and it hurts cuz most people say the real results come in month 2! I just feel drained all the time. Before working out, after working out, all the time. Even though the warmup im just feeling drained and just blegh like I don't wanna do this, even though I really do. Can someone please help me because its sad seeing all this progress and feeling burnt out now. I really don't know whats going on. Thank you in advance!

    Hey,

My advise is keep going, it gets better. I was the same but by end of week 2 the energy just came and I just started loving the longer work outs. I think ur body just needs time to get used to the longer work outs.

I finished the OG insanity for the first time last year. Decided to give it another go in April and I finished it. Although I noticed that my fitness level shot up nd my body shape got more defined, I made the rookie error of not adjusting my diet plus because I'm now working from home that's literally the only exercise I did , i then just sat on my *kitten* for the rest of the day so I didnt lose any weight. I then decide to do it all over again (back to back) so I'm now on recovery week. I have adjusted my diet and the pounds are now dropping off.

I'd say make sure u are having enough protein in ur diet. I started aving protein shakes and that has definetly help me with energy levels nd plus it helps with muscle recovery.

You can do this. Dig Deeper!

Thank you so much @foreverkudzi for your response! Ill definitely sticking with it and give it what I can! Can you also lemme know how you adjusted your diet because that is possibly a mistake im making too! I might not be eating enough im not sure. Im just scared of eating more cuz I don't want the weight to come back. Its the first time ive committed to a program and actually had results !

No worries @Simbii95 funnily enough i just wasnt eating enough it turns out. It looks like my body was clinging on to the food I ate cz I was just in hunger mode. I was having about 1200 a day and not really eating back my exercise calories. I actually increased this to 1350 and also started eating back some of my exercise calories. My body just reacted positively to this plus I found I just had more energy. The insanity workouts do take a lot of your energy so what I've learnt from my personal experience is that the body will reward you if you give it a bit more energy. Just make sure ur not eating too little and definitely eat back your exercise for more energy (healthy foods) The protein shakes after each workout was also a game changer.

I burn on average 360-400 calories in month 1 and month 2 I was burning between 460-600 calories depending on the workout. So definitely need to ensure ur eating a bit more that u did in month 1 so that u dont feel fatigue.

    Hope that helps.

I agree with @foreverkudzi Once I started eating 90 minutes before working out, I felt I could push through month two so much better. My normal meal before any of those workouts was the same: 1/4 dry oats, cooked with a tsp of almond butter or coconut oil mixed in, two eggs over medium and 4 oz of cooked spinach. Seemed to do the trick. I also made sure to eat something one hour after the workout; not just a protein shake but that would often be included. I made sure to include fruit, veggies, carbs and a good fat.. Usually a smoothie made with a cup of fruit, 8oz milk, more spinach or some other type of veggie. More eggs or chicken if I didn't have a protein shake.
When I wore a heart monitor during my 4th round of the series, in month 2 I averaged an 800 calorie burn. You have to be sure your body is fueled for that.

I've done insanity fully 2x and partially or adjusted (aka I mixed it in with my other workouts vs doing insanity following the plan) another 2-3x, eating properly/enough was essential, and if I started with below ideal endurance I did end up taking 1 extra recovery day around the ends of weeks 1 and 2, I believe in pushing through mild/moderate soreness or feeling a bit "bleh" but if it's too much it's too much. It made me feel fresh and able to get through the workouts so I took it as a good thing even if it delayed the completion a tiny bit and wasn't strictly "on the plan"
