New to Lifting

Hey all,
I'm really hoping to start adding lifting to my fitness regimen. Before I used to be all about the cardio, but I know this isn't the most effective way to get fit and lose fat. Any good resources for beginners, including anything geared specifically for women?

New Rules of Lifting For Women is a good resource. A lot of people like Jamie Eason's LiveFit trainer as well. Honestly, though, you don't need a specific "for women" program. I really liked the 5x5 I did, and Wendler is good, too. Check out the Female Bodybuilders forum on bodybuilding.com for some good resources as well.0

Go to this forum on MFP and read about everything lifting and the right way to do it.
I mainly read and don't usually post, but when I found Eat, Train, Progress it helped out quite a bit.

A great book to check it is Starting Strength, the program is a lot like stronglifts 5x5 which is also a popular beginner program.0
