New to Apple Watch

Hi, I’m new to using Apple Watch (5) and need some pointers. I have the MFP app on my watch and synced them but workouts aren’t automatically uploading onto my diary. I figured they would but maybe I’m wrong? I’m using the Apple activity app to record my workouts, is that the reason why?
Any other pointers, tips, tricks welcome. Thanks!

I had to go to the website and disconnect and resync when I first got mine. The phone app wouldn’t connect right. Hope it helps.1

You don’t need the MFP app on your watch. Unless you meal plan using the watch to enter the data. Apple Watch doesn’t transfer info well to MFP. You can log workouts using the watch and those will show up under exercise. But you don’t get credit for all your other steps outside of the logged workouts.
You can use Pacer, free version. In MFP, link to Pacer for steps. Connect Pacer to Apple Health. When you track a workout on the watch and sync to Pacer, you’ll see an adjustment from Pacer and one from Apple Health. Delete Apple Health bc it’s a double. In MFP, if you select sedentary as your activity level, your entire move calories will be your adjustment. If you select lightly active or active it will be less.0
